Blog post assignment 8: Martin Luther King rhetorical paragraph

On August 28, 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr presented a speech in Washington DC. In his "I have a dream" speech, he uses several rhetorical devices ; as well as figurative language. He uses repetition and logos. An example of repetition is when King said "I have a dream" and "Let freedom ring". By repeating "I have a dream", he stresses all of his dreams to the public. Letting them get a clear understanding about what he would like to see. Same goes for "let freedom ring". He is letting the public know that he wants freedom and equality for every human being in every country. King's use of logos shows throughout the whole speech. He is informing African American people that they are not being given equal rights as whites. He lets them know that the saying "All men are created equal", is not being prosecuted correctly. In conclusion, Martin Luther King uses many rhetorical devices and figurative language to try to properly get his point across and to stress his opinions.
