1. “Forever is composed of nows.”
Dickinson is pointing out how the rest of ones life is composed of every occurring action. Every memory a person has formulates forever.

2. “That it will never come again is what makes life so sweet.”
In this quote Dickinson is referring to bad times in life. It is a good thing or “sweet” that once a particular pain has happened., it will come not come again or at least Dickinson will not allow it to come again. This makes life sweet for her because she knows she will not have to go through it again.

3. “If I can stop one heart from breakin, I shall not like I’m vain.”
To be vain means one is selfish and self centered. If Dickinson can stop dwelling on herself and her pain and help someone else heal, she will no longer be vain and would not have a useless life.

4. “If I read a book and it makes my whole body so cold no fire can ever warm me, I know that it is poetry.”
This quote is explaining how Dickinson distinguishes real poetry that can move a reader and not so good poetry. Dickinson has a love for poetry so if she reads a poem with a very touching theme, it will touch her body and make it cold in a way no heat can warm her.

       That never wrote to me”
Dickinson probably was not recognized and went unnoticed everywhere she went. Is is writing something to the world although the world never noticed or wrote to her.

6. “Saying nothing sometimes says the most.”
If a person gets to a point in life where they don’t have to react to every situation, it gives them power and sends off a deeper messages than reacting. Saying nothing shows maturity in a person and is sometimes a better option.

7. “I dwell is possibility.”
This could mean that she is constantly questioning herself or her actions. What if she is not good enough. What if she lives in vain. She is showing uncertainty and always wonders on consequences.

8. “Nature is a haunted house—but Art—is a house that tries to be haunted.”
She is stating that nature is full of bad things and creature. She then compares it to art and says that art the house who tries to be noticed and move people.

When one pass they are parting and leaving earth. Leaving earth and possibly going to Heaven is all we know about passing away. It is always good hat we will be sinless.

Through every obstacle that has brought her down and hurt her heart, she still managed to find a happy place. She hopes and prays for better days and to be restored from all the heart ache and trauma.

Life is the one thing that is not promised. While one has life and is on earth, how much can they do? What can they accomplish in the short life span they are given.

12. “Whenever a thing is done for the first time, it releases a little demon.”
Whenever something sinful or bad is done for the first time, it releases a little demon because it is not the right thing to do.

13. “To shut your eyes is to travel.”
This quote is stating that if you close your eyes, you can go anywhere. Shutting your eyes can take you into your imagination and you can envision yourself doing anything at any place you choose to be.

14. “Open me carefully.”
If you do choose to get to know someone, know what you are getting yourself into. As far as personal information and characteristics. Be ready to accept anything dealing with that person.

15. “Till I loved I never liked enough.”
In order for you to love, you have to really like someone. Since Dickinson never loved that means she never liked anyone enough to eventually begin loving them.
