Blog post assignment 5: Quotations

"The music made it feel like my mother was right there with me, standing in the room - only she wasn't and would never be again." Chapter 16, page 264

1. Does the quotation indicate a conflict? If so, what conflict? The conflict in this quotation is Cheryl can not get over her mothers death. She realizes she is gone true enough, but deep down Cheryl will never be able to accept the fact that her mother is never  coming back.

2. Does the quotation relate to a theme? If so, what theme and how does it relate? Yes the quotation relates to a theme. This relates to the theme of facing reality. In this chapter Cheryl reminisced about memories she shared with her mother. Reality was, her mother was never coming back and she had to accept that.

"I never got to be in the driver's seat of my own life." Chapter 16, page 273

1. Does the quotation characterize Cheryl, Paul, her mother, or any other character? If so, in what ways does characterize? This quotation characterizes Cheryl's mother. This statement she mad clarifies that she was a people pleaser. She always let others control her.

2. Does this quotation indicate a conflict? If so, what conflict? In my opinion, this quotation indicates a conflict because it seems as if Bobbi, had regrets. She was upset with herself that she could never be who she truly was because she always pleased others. She put others want and needs before her own.
